Gold Rush – Vinous Treasure Trove of the Balkans

A few words about the masterclass I led atImage The Balkan International Wine Competition 2014

Caroline Gilby – Master of Wine from Great Britain has presented the masterclass entitled: ‘Gold Rush – the vinous treasure trove of the Balkans’. It was a look at the treasure trove of native grape varieties that makes up the wine heritage of the Balkans & Europe’s mysterious east. Caroline Gilby MW has taken us on an exploration of the distinctive cultures & wine histories of the countries of the Balkans, seen through the lens of their unique indigenous grape varieties.

In the course of the masterclass the following eight wines were tasted & presented:
